BL - NEEDLE VERSION:

* Locate the patient in the decubitus’ position on the right or left side;

* Anaestethic locally especially the peritoteum;

* Cut the cutis with the bistouri;

* Remove the needle’s protection;

* Handle the needle with the palm of the hand and penetrate until it does not touch the iliac crest;

* Press, rotating the needle first in the clockwise direction and then in the anticlockwise until the compact tissue is passed through (the entering of the cavity will be evident thanks to the minor pressure through necessary for the advancement of the cannula);

* Extract the mandrel rotating its cap in the anticlockwise direction;

* Mount the second cap in order to avoid blood discharges and to maintain ease of handling;

* Penetrate the bone structure always rotating the needle in the same direction;

* Once the desired depth is reached, do a slight dislocation, (the specific internal shape of the  cannula helps to retain the bone marrow sample). For those tissues that are particularly hard retract the needle by 2 or 3 mm, inclining it slightly and advance again until the previous depth is reached;

* Extract the needle from the patient.

* Remove the cap;

* Insert the security cap on the needles point;

* Thread into the cannula the extraction wire to extract the detached sample;

* Before bioptic penetration it is possible to do a sampling of hemopoietic marrow screwing a syringe on the Luer lock cone of the handle to aspire;

* In case the cannula stucks into the hard cortical tissue of the bone, absolutely avoid to  rotate  the handle more then 40°- 45°.

BLE - NEEDLE VERSION:

* Anestethice totally the patient;

* Remove the needle’s protection;

* Handle the needle with the palm of the hand and penetrate as above (BL point 6);

* Once into the trabeculate, go forward until You do not reach the haemopoietic marrow;

* Remove the mandrel and screw a syringe at the luer lock cone at the needle’s base;

* Aspire the haemopoietise marrow, the quantity will be more thanks to the 5 side holes on the cannula near the point;

* Explant needle BLE has two mandrels.
